The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is holding an online event on 14 December 2020 (14:00-18:00 CET) on “Blockchain technologies for the Mining Industry”. This event is a follow-up round table on the EESC’s recently adopted opinion on Digital Mining in Europe: New solutions for the sustainable production of raw materials (CCMI/176). The event will examine what blockchain technology is in the mining industry and how it works. A broad range of stakeholders will gather online for a discussion (Swedish Mining Organisation, Minespider, Kamni Chain, IndustriAll, OECD, European Commission, EEAS).
The International Raw Materials Observatory will be represented by Secretary-General Vitor Correia who will provide a presentation on the dynamics of responsible sourcing.
